Frequently Asked Questions

How do I extract frames from a GIF?

Simply drag and drop your GIF file into the tool. It will automatically split the animation into individual frames. You can then browse through the frames using the timeline and download any frame you want.

What animated image formats are supported?

This tool supports GIF, animated WebP, APNG (Animated PNG), and animated AVIF files. You can extract frames from all of these formats.

Can I download individual frames?

Yes! Select any frame using the timeline or playback controls, then click the download button to save it. Frames are saved in the original format when possible, or as PNG as a fallback.

What format are the extracted frames saved in?

Extracted frames are saved in the same format as the source image when possible. For example, frames from a GIF are saved as GIF, and frames from WebP are saved as WebP. If the original format is not supported, frames are saved as PNG.

Is my data safe? Are my images uploaded anywhere?

Your images never leave your device. All frame extraction and processing happens locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded to any server.

Can I extract all frames at once?

You can view all frames in the timeline and download them one by one. The tool displays every frame with its timing information, so you can pick exactly the frames you need.
