Frequently Asked Questions
What is a hue shift?
A hue shift rotates all the colors in your image around the color wheel. A shift of +60° turns reds into yellows, yellows into greens, and so on. It is a fast way to recolor an image without touching brightness or contrast.
How does the saturation slider work?
Saturation controls how vivid the colors appear. 100% keeps your image unchanged, 0% produces a grayscale version, and values above 100% make colors more intense. Use it with the hue slider to completely re-tone a photo.
What are some good starting points?
For subtle warming, try a hue of −10° to −20° with saturation around 110%. For a moody, desaturated look, keep the hue at 0° and drop saturation to 40-60%. For bold creative recolors, sweep the hue slider to ±90° or more.
Does this tool support animated images?
Yes. Animated formats (GIF, animated WebP, APNG) are supported and the hue/saturation adjustment is applied to every frame, so animation is preserved when the output format supports it. The preview shows the first frame.
What image formats are supported?
You can change the hue and saturation of images in AVIF, Animated PNG (APNG), BMP, GIF, HEIC/HEIF, ICO (Icon), JPE, JPG, JPG (JPEG), MP4 (Video), PBM, PGM, PNG, PNG 24-bit, PNG 32-bit, PNG 8-bit, PNM, PPM, PSD, RAW formats (CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, DNG, ORF, RAF, etc.), SVG, TGA (Targa), TIFF, WebP, XCF. Output formats include AVIF, BMP, GIF, JPG (JPEG), PNG, SVG, TIFF, WebP.
Are my photos safe?
Absolutely! All processing happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly technology. Your images are never uploaded to any server — they stay completely private on your device.
Can I adjust the hue of multiple images at once?
Yes! Upload multiple images, preview the effect, and download them all individually or as a ZIP file. The same hue and saturation settings are applied to every image.
Is there a file size or quantity limit?
No, there are no file size or quantity restrictions. All processing happens locally in your browser, so larger files or batches may take longer depending on your device's performance.
