What's the difference between 2x, 4x, and 8x?
2x doubles the width and height; 4x quadruples them; 8x multiplies them eightfold — ideal for very small images like old photos or logos. 4x and 8x are part of Imagy Pro. Output is capped at 4096 px on the longest side, so very large inputs are scaled to fit that ceiling.
When should I use Photo vs Art mode?
Photo mode is tuned for real photographs and screenshots — it keeps textures natural and text readable. Art mode is tuned for drawings, anime, and flat-color digital art — it keeps lines crisp without adding photo-style grain. Pro's SeedVR2 model handles both automatically.
Does the AI invent detail that wasn't there?

What's the maximum image size?

Are my images stored?
Uploaded originals are deleted automatically within 48 hours. If you're signed in, upscaled results are saved to your My Files storage; anonymous results are removed after 30 days.
How many credits does an image cost on Pro?
The cost scales with the upscale factor: 2x costs 1 credit, 4x costs 2, and 8x costs 3 — from the same credit pool used by AI Create and the AI Background Remover. Pro includes a monthly credit allowance.
